Great British Grub in March

Time for our new March Supper menu.

We’ve changed a little, and added a small section called “Staple Dishes”. These are the dishes that we believe (from years of research) are our best sellers. So, why change them, why don’t we give you what you want. Something that’s your all-time favourite?

Here’s our lovely Supper menu:

First course

Welsh Rarebit: Carol Peacock’s Morden isle cheese, mushrooms and Worcester sauce (v)

Raby Estate venison faggot: and sweet tomato sauce
Fishcake: smoked fish, white wine sauce, greens & fried egg

Shetland mussels: garlic & herb cream

Camembert: grilled with a poppy seed & hazelnut twist (v)

Teesdale Mutton: slow-cooked and curried with lentils & natural yoghurt

Smoked salmon: classically done with lemon, dill and bread

Staple Dishes

Wild rabbit: and pigs trotter pie, with crispy pigs ears & carrot mash

Cumbrian chicken: stuffed with Raby Castle venison, cherry tomatoes and pancetta

Short rib beef: cottage pie, with bone marrow and watercress

Pork shoulder: creamed mash, bramley apple & gravy

Lardy cake: spiced fruit in a rich dough with salted orange & caramel

Sticky toffee: our famous pudding with butterscotch & vanilla ice cream

Cheeseboard: a selection of British cheeses with chutney

Rum baba: with lemon meringue cream

Rhubard & Apple: slow-cooked with a crumble top served with vanilla ice cream

Chocolate: brownie with cream, hazelnuts and honey

Ice Cream: made in Blaydon by Beckleberrys
