Freezing wind? Snowy, frosty paths? Gloves on, scarf on, great big massive coat on?

Come in, we’ll warm you through – well, our food will.

Here’s our evening menu for January and early February.

First course

Smoked haddock: in a fishcake with poached egg & white wine sauce
Ploughmans: on toast with Mordon Blue cheese (V)

Chicken: with a creamy sweetcorn chowder

Ham hock: fritters with a smoked cheese crisp & apple chutney

King prawns: fried in butter with a hot scotch bonnet salsa

Mackerel: cured & pan-fried with cucumber and lime pickle

Duck:  in a Wensleydale cheese tart with plum chutney

Dover Sole: with potato and lemon gratin, slow-braised peas
Cottage pie:  lentils & mushrooms with a sweet potato topping and honey-glazed carrots (v) Duck: with spiced red cabbage, sweet potato fondant & red wine jus
Glamorgan sausages: vegetarian sausage, cherry tomatoes, fried egg & thick-cut chips (v)
Mussels: Today’s catch with a cider & tarragon sauce and fresh bread
Chicken: Spatchcock poissin, spicy chicken livers, puy lentils, pancetta and mushrooms
Cod: loin with spicy sausage, cherry tomato and rice
