The temperature is dropping, the nights are darker and the leaves have turned.

Autumn is upon us.

It’s a great season for us, full of great produce.

Here’s our new Evening menu. It’s available every day after 6pm!

FIRST COURSE All £6.50

Duck – slow-cooked leg, potted with sourdough and prune puree

Mackerel – mackerel fillet & gooseberry chutney on artisan toast

Pork – belly and rib, with beetroot & apple

Grilled Langoustines – Served in garlic butter

Grilled lettuce hearts – roast vine tomato, garlic & shallot dressing (v)

Cured ham – Cumbrian ham, poached duck egg & chicory

Blue cheese – salad style with walnuts, roast fig & apple dressing  (v)

SECOND COURSE All £17.00

MEAT & FISH

Duck breast – sweet potato fondant baby leeks, red cabbage & squash

Lemon sole – whole sole, potato, samphire & brown shrimp

Lamb – breast with tarragon mash & salt baked carrot (the breast is slightly fatty, but makes for great flavour)

Pork – loin chop, potato dumpling, caramelized apple, cider & baby onion sauce

Smoked haddock – Scotch egg style with wilted spinach, curried rice, lemon butter & garlic flatbread

Chicken – corn-fed with smoked garlic and wild mushroom, bacon, spiced beans & fat chips

Seafood plate – battered turbot, breaded scampi, fat chips, tartar relish & home-made ketchup

GRILL SPECIALS

Sirloin steak – with fat chips, tomato & mushrooms (£4.50 extra)

Surf and turf – Rump steak, langoustine, chips (£3.00 extra)

VEGETARIAN £15.00

Autumnal vegetables –puff pastry tart with seasonal veg, caper & raisin salsa

Butternut squash – “Lasagne” style, feta, allotment veg & garlic flatbread

 

PUDDINGS

Pear – Earl Grey poached, salted caramel & liquorice ice cream £5.50 (v)

Chocolate – a white and dark mousse with shortbread £5.00 (v)

Sticky toffee pudding – with butterscotch sauce & vanilla icecream £6.90 (v)
